Questions people ask first

  • Is this really free?

Yes. Every card, every verb and every test is free, and there is no paid tier holding anything back.

  • Do I need an account?

No. Nothing on the site asks you to sign up, and your test results stay in your own browser.

  • How do I know which level I am?

Take the short test. It places you on the CEFR ladder from A1 to B2 and points you at what to study next.

  • How are the cards organised?

By topic. Each card covers one rule with its pattern, examples and the mistakes learners actually make.

  • What level is the material for?

Cards run from complete beginner through intermediate. The tests cover the full range, from A1 to B2.

  • Can I retake a test?

Yes, as often as you like. Each attempt draws a fresh, random set of questions, so it is rarely the same test twice.

  • Does it work on my phone?

Yes. The site adapts to any screen, so the cards, the verb table and the tests all work well on a phone or a computer, with nothing to install.

  • Is it British or American English?

British English by default. Where American usage would change your answer or is worth knowing, like got versus gotten, the card points it out.
