Past Simple
Use it for completed actions and facts in the past, with no present connection.
Rule
In positive sentences, use V2 for irregular verbs or -ed for regular verbs.
In questions and negatives, use did + V1.

Notes
- Work → worked | Live → lived (just -d after -e) | Study → studied (consonant + -y)
- Short verbs ending in vowel + consonant double it: stop → stopped, plan → planned
- Use -ed only in positive sentences with regular verbs
- did is the same for all subjects
- With did/didn't, the main verb is base form (V1)
