Comparación de adjetivosNivel de inglés A2

Comparación de adjetivos

Compara personas y cosas: los adjetivos cortos llevan -er/-est; los largos, more/the most; y algunas formas irregulares deben aprenderse por separado.

Regla

Los adjetivos de una sílaba, y los de dos sílabas terminados en -y, forman los grados con -er / the -est. Los más largos usan more / the most. El comparativo va con than; el superlativo lleva the.

Consejo

Cuenta las sílabas: una, o dos con -y al final → añade la terminación; si tiene más → coloca more / the most delante.

Fórmula

1 sílabaadjective + -er → the + -estfast → faster → the fastestcheap → cheaper → the cheapest

Errores frecuentes

  • Incorrecto: more better / more easierCorrecto: better / easierNunca combines more con una forma terminada en -er.
  • Incorrecto: This is the most easy way.Correcto: This is the easiest way.

Notas

  • El superlativo casi siempre lleva the: the best, the most expensive.
  • Algunos adjetivos de dos sílabas terminados en -le, -er u -ow también llevan -er: simple → simpler, clever → cleverer, narrow → narrower
  • Para cosas iguales usa as ... as: She is as tall as her brother. En negativa: not as tall as.
  • Para una diferencia grande: much / far + comparativo — This one is much better.

Práctica
