Comparazione degli aggettiviLivello di inglese A2

Comparison of adjectives

Confronta persone e cose: gli aggettivi brevi prendono -er/-est, quelli lunghi more/the most e alcune forme irregolari vanno imparate a memoria.

Regola

Gli aggettivi di una sillaba (e quelli di due sillabe in -y) formano i gradi con -er / the -est. Quelli più lunghi usano more / the most. Il comparativo si accompagna a than; il superlativo prende the.

Suggerimento

Conta le sillabe: una, o due con finale in -y → aggiungi la desinenza; se è più lungo → metti davanti more / the most.

  • Sbagliato: This is the most easy way.Corretto: This is the easiest way.

Note

  • Il superlativo prende quasi sempre the: the best, the most expensive.
  • Alcuni aggettivi di due sillabe in -le, -er o -ow possono prendere anche -er: simple → simpler, clever → cleverer, narrow → narrower
  • Per l’uguaglianza usa as … as: She is as tall as her brother. Alla negativa: not as tall as.
  • Per una grande differenza usa much / far + comparativo: This one is much better.
