Usa questa struttura per dire che qualcosa esiste o si trova in un luogo.
Regola
Usa there is con i nomi singolari e non numerabili e there are con i nomi plurali.

Nel dialogo

Errori comuni
Sbagliato: There is two chairs in the room.Corretto: There are two chairs in the room.
Note
- Alla prima menzione usa there is, poi the: There is a book on the desk. The book is mine.
- Si combina naturalmente con some/any: There is some milk. Is there any milk?
- In un elenco il verbo concorda con il primo elemento: There is a table and two chairs.
