Adverbs of manner
Indica come avviene qualcosa: la maggior parte degli avverbi di modo è formata da aggettivo + -ly e segue il verbo.
Regola
Aggiungi -ly a un aggettivo per descrivere l’azione: quick → quickly. L’avverbio va di solito dopo il verbo o il suo complemento. Alcuni sono irregolari: good → well; fast e hard non cambiano.

Errori comuni
Sbagliato: She sings good.Corretto: She sings well.Sbagliato: He drives very fastly.Corretto: He drives very fast.
Note
- L’aggettivo descrive un nome, l’avverbio modifica un verbo: a slow train / the train moves slowly
- hardly non significa «hard»: hardly = quasi per niente
- Non tutte le parole in -ly sono avverbi: friendly, lovely, silly sono aggettivi — usa «in a friendly way», non
she smiled friendly - Dopo look, feel, smell, taste, sound usa un aggettivo: It smells good (non
well).
