Can / Can't

Usa can e can't per capacità presente, possibilità, permesso e richieste. Sono seguiti dal verbo alla forma base e non cambiano mai in base al soggetto.

Regola

Dopo can/can't usa il verbo alla forma base, senza to. Can non cambia in base al soggetto (niente -s) e non richiede do/does.

Struttura

Nel dialogo

  • ACan you help me with this box?

Errori comuni

  • Sbagliato: He can to drive.Corretto: He can drive.Niente to dopo can.
  • Sbagliato: She cans cook.Corretto: She can cook.

Note

  • Cannot è la forma estesa; can't la forma contratta
  • Non cambia: I can / he can (niente -s)
  • Niente do/does nelle domande
  • Richiesta: Can you…? = chiedere a qualcuno di fare qualcosa
