Do / Does

Gli ausiliari delle domande e delle frasi negative al Present Simple.

Regola

Dopo do/does, il verbo principale resta alla forma base, senza -s. Nelle normali frasi affermative l’ausiliare non serve.

Struttura

Errori comuni

  • Sbagliato: Does she works?Corretto: Does she work?L’ausiliare porta già la -s; il verbo principale resta alla forma base.

Note

  • do/does non serve nelle normali frasi affermative
  • Un’eccezione è l’enfasi: I do like it! / She does know the answer.
  • Le risposte brevi mantengono l’ausiliare: Yes, I do. / No, she doesn't.
